Katy is still being built, so this is routine work for us rather than an occasional job. Cross Creek Ranch and the newer sections of Firethorne are producing finished houses constantly, and a finished house is not a clean house.
A brand new build has stickers on every window and every appliance, adhesive residue under them, paint specks on hinges and switch plates, a grey film of drywall dust in places nobody has opened yet, and grout haze on tile that will stay hazy until somebody takes it off properly.
The builder's clean is not this. It is a broom-and-wipe pass so the house can be handed over, and it is not meant to be more than that. If you are moving into a new Katy build, the honest sequence is: builder finishes, we clean, then the truck comes — not the other way round with your furniture already collecting the dust.
We take the whole place, not just one part of it.
